Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough initial assessments of clients by interviewing them about their mental, behavioral, and emotional health, documenting findings meticulously through all phases of treatment.

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that incorporate individual, couple, family, and group therapy interventions designed to facilitate recovery and enhance well-being.

• Lead both individual and group therapy sessions using a variety of therapeutic modalities to address client issues effectively.

• Monitor client progress continuously, adjusting treatment plans as necessary and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.

• Provide follow-ups for clients who may need additional support, especially those recently discharged from psychiatric care, while coordinating with their psychiatrists and other medical professionals.

• Empower families and primary caregivers by offering guidance on managing mental health and behavioral challenges, thereby strengthening support networks around the client.

• Stay updated on the latest developments in psychotherapy and counseling practices to ensure the highest quality of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our client base encompasses a diverse population, including children, adolescents, adults, and families facing varied mental health challenges. As a counselor, you will interact with clients dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction disorders, providing them with tailored approaches that respect their unique circumstances and experiences.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure in New York as one of the following: License Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).

• A valid score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Demonstrable skills in electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR.
\n
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, allowing you to engage effectively with clients and collaborate with peers.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience as a Mental Health Counselor, showcasing a robust understanding of various therapeutic techniques.

• Experience managing cases involving addiction disorders and co-occurring conditions.
