Work Environment

The selected candidate will work primarily onsite at our outpatient office. This engaging clinical setting fosters collaboration and innovation among our team members, creating a motivating atmosphere for both therapists and patients alike. Our facility is equipped with modern rehabilitation technologies and therapy tools that enable you to deliver evidence-based treatments effectively. The schedule for this role is Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing flexibility for work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical evaluations for patients, meticulously assessing their range of motion, strength, balance, gait patterns, and functional limitations.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific needs and goals, incorporating a range of therapeutic modalities such as heat therapy and manual therapy techniques.
• Administer therapeutic exercises aimed at enhancing strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination, while also addressing issues related to pain management.
• Coach patients in using assistive devices, such as canes or walkers, ensuring that they are equipped with the necessary skills for safe ambulation and fall prevention.
• Support patients in mastering activities of daily living (ADLs) including dressing, bathing, and transferring, promoting their independence to the highest possible degree.
• Educate patients and their caregivers on effective exercise techniques, home exercise programs, and strategies for preventing falls.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting progress notes, treatment plans, and functional assessments to ensure continuity of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on older adults who are experiencing common age-related conditions such as arthritis, osteoporosis, dementia, and Parkinson's disease. As a vital part of our treatment team, you will work closely with these patients to enhance their mobility, independence, and overall quality of life. Your expertise and compassionate approach will make a significant impact on their recovery journeys.

Qualifications

• Current and valid Physical Therapy license in the state of New York is required.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or higher from an accredited institution is mandatory.
• Strong communication skills and interpersonal abilities to foster effective interactions with patients and team members.
• An aptitude for developing and implementing patient-specific treatment plans that promote therapeutic progress.

Preferred Experience

While a background in working with an assisted living facility is preferred, it is not compulsory. Candidates with at least two years of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist will be given priority. A demonstrated ability to work both independently and cooperatively as part of a dynamic healthcare team is essential.

Compensation and Benefits
