About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President for Advocacy and Government Relations to serve as the primary strategist in shaping public policy and advancing initiatives that enhance healthcare access and community health outcomes. This executive leadership role involves direct engagement with regional executives, policymakers, regulators, and healthcare industry leaders to influence legislation and reimbursement strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the advocacy plan, which includes state and federal priorities for legislative and regulatory advocacy. They will also work closely with senior leadership to build the company's brand with policymakers and other influencers, and to ensure that the organization's mission, vision, and values are reflected in all advocacy efforts. Applicants must have a thorough understanding of advocacy initiatives and legislative processes, preferably in the state of Iowa, and a minimum of 7 years' relevant experience in state or federal advocacy within a healthcare organization. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required, with a graduate degree preferred. The role demands a strong personal presence, excellent communication and networking skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and build coalitions. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of the Catholic Church's teachings on social justice and healthcare, and must embody the values of the company, including a commitment to those who are poor, and a dedication to fostering right relationships for the common good.
