Director, Business Development

Location: San Diego (Torrey Pines) or Remote (Boston / Bay Area preferred)

Company: Venture-backed biotech developing next-generation myeloid and T cell engager platforms in oncology and autoimmune disease. Preparing for a 2026 Series A.

Role Summary

Lead platform strategy, partnering, and fundraising efforts across two biologics platforms. Operate as the sole BD lead, working directly with executive leadership, pharma partners, and investors. Role includes roughly 50% platform strategy/competitive intelligence and 50% partnering execution, with direct involvement in Series A preparation.

Key Responsibilities

• Build business cases and positioning for myeloid and TCE platforms.
• Drive pharma partnering strategy, outreach, and deal execution.
• Lead competitive intelligence and benchmark against recent deals.
• Develop investor narratives, data packages, and fundraising materials.
• Identify and execute platform validation and co-development partnerships.
• Support Series A strategy, modeling, and investor engagement.

Ideal Candidate

• 5+ years of BD or corporate development experience in biotech/pharma.
• Strong scientific fluency (PhD not required).
• Experience in startup or small biotech environments preferred.
• Comfortable operating independently with high visibility and ownership.
• Strong relationship-building and external-facing skills.

Compensation

• Base: $220K–$300K + bonus + equity
