Interim Accounting Manager

A small, privately held retail / consumer products business is seeking a hands‑on Interim Accounting Manager to support a lean accounting environment. This is a one‑person accounting function, so the ideal consultant (Hourly W2 or 1099) must be comfortable owning the day‑to‑day accounting work directly, operating independently, and bringing structure to a QuickBooks‑based environment. This person will be responsible for managing the monthly close, maintaining the general ledger, preparing journal entries and reconciliations, overseeing AP/AR activity, reviewing cash activity, supporting inventory‑related accounting, and helping ensure financial reporting is accurate and timely. The role requires someone who is willing to roll up their sleeves and work in the details while also helping improve process, organization, and visibility for leadership. The right fit will have experience in a small or founder‑led business, ideally within retail, consumer products, apparel, jewelry, wholesale, e‑commerce, or another inventory‑based environment. QuickBooks experience is important, as is the ability to work without a large accounting team or heavy infrastructure.
