Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments of clients during initial sessions to determine their mental health status, including evaluating symptoms, past mental health history, and current psychosocial factors.

• Regularly meet with clients to provide ongoing counseling and support, equipping them with coping strategies and tools to manage their issues.

• Collaborate with other healthcare providers, such as psychiatrists or medical professionals, to ensure a comprehensive approach to client care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our clinic serves a broad range of clients, including adults dealing with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, trauma, and substance abuse challenges. As a Mental Health Counselor, you will work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, tailoring your approach to accommodate varying cultural and personal contexts. Understanding and respecting each client’s unique experiences will be fundamental to your therapeutic approach.

Qualifications\n

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid licensed mental health counselor credential (e.g., LMHC, LPC, LCSW) in the state of New Jersey.

• A minimum of four years of professional experience in mental health counseling, demonstrating a strong foundation in therapy practices.

• A solid understanding of mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities, along with cultural competence in therapy.

• Experience in providing both individual and group therapy sessions that are culturally responsive and inclusive.

Preferred Experience\n

Compensation and Benefits\n
