Business Development Manager - Austin Upscale Hotel Portfolio

Business Development Manager - Pathfinder's Portfolio (Aloft Austin Southwest, Holiday Inn Express Arboretum, with portfolio support for Staybridge Suites Houston Clear Lake). Location: Austin, TX Role Type: Full-time Why This Role is Different If you've worked in hotel sales before, you know the frustration: one day you're chasing corporate accounts, the next you're bogged down in contracts or rooming lists - and somehow you're still expected to deliver big revenue. At Pathfinder, we've built something different: boutique-style portfolio of high-quality hotels - Aloft Austin Southwest (4.6 Google), Staybridge Suites Houston Clear Lake (4.6 Google), and Holiday Inn Express Arboretum (4.5 Google) - all rated above market averages and known for strong guest satisfaction. Few salespeople get to represent hotels with this kind of reputation. innovative sales model that removes busywork and lets each team member play to their strengths. Researchers bring you decision‑maker contacts, proposals are built for you with storytelling and video, and enablement clears admin off your plate. General Managers who are trained as true sales leaders through our Learning & Development program, so they protect your selling time and support your growth. Here, your focus is clear: spend your time in the market, build relationships, tell our story, and close accounts - not juggle six different jobs. What You'll Do Own your Austin market. Prospect extended stay and LNR accounts across Austin for Aloft + Holiday Inn Express, fueled by validated leads. Support the portfolio. As you grow into a strong hunter, you'll also help generate business for Staybridge Houston Clear Lake, with a special focus on extended stay demand. Be the face of our hotels. Spend most of your week in the field - networking events, site visits, and office drop‑ins - not stuck behind a desk. Capture opportunities. Handle high‑value inbound calls triaged to you, qualify quickly, and ensure every potential client gets a tailored follow‑up. Sell with storytelling. Use our "Dare to Compare" approach - proposals that don't just list rates, but show why our hotels are the smarter choice. We highlight unique advantages, testimonials, and videos that help clients picture themselves staying with us. Create Peak Moments. Bring Pathfinder's culture of going beyond "service" into sales. Surprise and delight prospects with gestures that turn ordinary interactions into memorable stories they'll share with colleagues. Keep getting better. Join weekly Power Hours, practice sessions, and coaching. We carve out structured time for skill‑building because we want you to grow as a professional, not just hit numbers. What Success Looks Like You're spending 65-70% of your time in the market with clients and prospects. New qualified accounts are flowing into the pipeline each week. Extended stay and LNR bookings are growing steadily across Aloft, Holiday Inn Express, and supported accounts at Staybridge. Proposals tell a story that consistently outshines competitors. You're recognized not just for closing business, but for creating Peak Moments that turn clients into raving fans. What We're Looking For Willingness and eagerness to make cold calls and initiate first‑contact conversations. Strong ability to persuade and influence, turning prospects into long‑term clients. Enjoys networking and face‑to‑face selling in the community. Excels in relationship selling by building trust and credibility over time. Result‑driven and proactive mindset - self‑starter who thrives on finding and closing business. Desire to learn and grow, with openness to coaching and development regardless of career stage.
