Work Environment

This full-time position operates in an onsite setting, primarily serving clients in their homes. You will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team, which includes doctors, nurses, and support staff, ensuring that patients receive seamless care. Key Responsibilities

• Directly manage and coordinate physical therapy treatment focused on orthopedic rehabilitation, pain relief, and functional improvement.
• Oversee and provide guidance to physical therapy assistants to ensure compliance with individualized treatment plans.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' physical function using diagnostic and prognostic tests, assessing muscle, nerve, and joint abilities.
• Assess the home environment to recommend modifications and adaptations that enhance each client's independence.
• Administer a variety of therapeutic techniques, including manual therapy, exercise instruction, and utilization of physical agents such as traction and massage.
• Evaluate, fit, and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices, collaborating with physicians to recommend necessary modifications.
• Document clinical findings, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with state regulations and organizational policies.
• Participate actively in interdisciplinary case conferences to evaluate comprehensive treatment strategies and adjust care plans as necessary.
• Instruct clients and their families on rehabilitation processes and home exercise programs to support recovery outside therapy sessions.
• Complete regular functional assessments to ensure treatment goals are being met and that referrals to community resources are utilized effectively.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on clients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, injuries, and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. You will work with a diverse group of patients, including those aged from children to older adults, ensuring that treatments are personalized and effective. Adapting your approach to align with each client's physical capabilities and emotional needs is key to fostering a supportive recovery environment.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• A valid physical therapy license in good standing in the state of New Jersey.
• Current CPR certification.
• A valid driver's license with automobile insurance to travel to patient locations.
• A commitment to clinical excellence, ethics, and quality of care.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills to engage with patients and families effectively.

Preferred Experience

• At least one year of professional experience in physical therapy, particularly in acute care or home care environments.
• Experience working within an interdisciplinary team focused on coordinated patient care.
