Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial consultations and comprehensive mental health evaluations to assess clients' needs and backgrounds.

• Document cases from the point of initial consultation to treatment conclusion, ensuring compliance with ethical and legal standards.

• Develop personalized intervention and recovery plans based on assessments for individuals, couples, families, and groups, tailored to meet the varied needs of your clients.
\n
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based therapeutic techniques and best practices.
\n
• Monitor clients' progress throughout the treatment process, adapting plans as necessary to ensure effective recovery pathways.
\n
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals including psychiatrists, social workers, and physicians to enhance the effectiveness of treatment interventions.
\n
• Follow up with medical professionals regarding clients needing additional services or hospitalization, ensuring a seamless continuity of care.

• Identify potential barriers to recovery, proactively addressing behaviors that may hinder progress.

• Support family members and caregivers, offering guidance on managing mental and behavioral challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will work with a diverse group of clients, ranging from individuals facing anxiety, depression, and trauma, to couples seeking to enhance their relationships. Our clinic emphasizes inclusivity and cultural sensitivity, ensuring that each client's unique background and values are considered in their treatment journey.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
\n
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW in the state of Illinois.
\n
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Proficient in using electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to maintain accurate and organized client documentation.
\n
• Strong expertise in addressing co-occurring physical and emotional health issues, along with familiarity in treating addiction disorders.
\n
• A deep understanding of current best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, facilitating effective interaction during therapy sessions.
\n
• Empathetic, with strong interpersonal capabilities, you must be comfortable building rapport with clients from varied backgrounds.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of three years experience working as a mental health counselor, particularly in a community health setting.

• Demonstrated experience in facilitating group therapy and workshops.

• Familiarity with trauma-informed care practices and methodologies.

• Ability to engage with clients utilizing telehealth platforms effectively.
