Contracts Specialist

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) contracting professionals play key roles in modernizing and maintaining the nation's air traffic management system. Qualifications Basic requirement: 4‑year bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management, or 4 years of experience in contracting or related positions (at least 1 year of specialized experience at or above the next lower pay band/grade). Completion of training for FAC‑C certification. Specialized Experience Requirement At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV‑I, FG/GS13 in the Federal Service, e.g., senior contract official awarding and administering complex contracts characterized as technically complex, mission essential, high visibility, and high dollar value. Employees in the 1102 series positions may be considered to have met the basic requirements for positions they occupy as of January1,2000, if the specialized experience requirements are met.
