We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our dynamic team at Vera's Family and Children Wellness Center. This full-time role offers the unique opportunity to provide specialized mental health care to children and adolescents in a remote telehealth setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mental health counseling, aiming to have a significant positive impact on the psychosocial development of their young clients.

Work Environment\n

This position is fully remote, enabling you to provide care from the comfort of your own home. Our telehealth platform is equipped with cutting-edge technology to facilitate secure, confidential sessions and seamless communication with patients and team members. With a flexible work schedule from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, occasional evening shifts may be required based on patient demands, allowing for work-life balance while meeting client needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to evaluate the individual needs of each child and adolescent, focusing on their emotional, psychological, and developmental circumstances.

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that reflect evidence-based practices and take into account family dynamics and cultural considerations.
\n
• Utilize therapeutic techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), play therapy, and family systems therapy to address various mental health disorders.
\n
• Facilitate family therapy sessions to engage parents and caregivers in the therapeutic process, ensuring alignment between treatment goals and home environments.
\n
• Collaborate intimately with child psychiatrists and multidisciplinary professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for our clients.
\n
• Provide crisis intervention and ongoing support to children experiencing acute mental health challenges, including but not limited to self-harm, anxiety attacks, or depressive episodes.
\n
• Educate clients and families about mental health conditions, treatment pathways, and community resources available to support their needs.
\n
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in accordance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards, utilizing our electronic health record (EHR) system for prompt and organized record-keeping.

• Engage in team meetings, case consultations, and continuous professional development to stay abreast of current research, best practices, and innovations in child and adolescent mental health.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our primary focus is on children and adolescents facing a range of mental health challenges, including anxiety disorders, depression, attention- deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and behavioral issues. As a Mental Health Therapist, you will work closely with this young population, utilizing tailored therapeutic methods to promote growth, resilience, and emotional stability.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
\n
• Current licensure as an LCSW, LCSW-R, LMHC, or LMFT in New York State.
\n
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in a clinical mental health setting, particularly with child and adolescent populations.
\n
• In-depth understanding of child and adolescent mental health disorders, treatment modalities, and therapeutic approaches.
\n
• Experience in delivering individual and family therapy, with a focus on the complexities of working with young clients.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating compassion and responsiveness to children's needs.
\n
• Ability to build rapport and trust with children, adolescents, and their families, creating a safe and inviting therapeutic space.

• Proficient in EHR systems and virtual communication tools.
\n

Compensation and Benefits\n
