Key Responsibilities\n

• Perform thorough mental health assessments tailored to individuals in hospice care, incorporating their background, emotional struggles, and specific needs.

• Remain proactive in developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized treatment plans that align with the goals of mental well-being and comfort.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and supportive counseling, to address the mental health needs of clients coping with grief and loss.

• Conduct both individual and family therapy sessions to facilitate understanding and coping strategies during challenging periods.

• Collaborate seamlessly with various healthcare professionals, including nurse practitioners, physicians, and behavioral health specialists, to ensure holistic patient care.

• Provide crisis intervention and support for patients experiencing acute emotional distress, employing de-escalation techniques as needed.

• Empower both clients and their families through psychoeducation, equipping them with knowledge about mental health and available community resources.

• Maintain meticulous and accurate documentation of all assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes to uphold compliance with legal and ethical standards.

• Engage in ongoing professional development, attending team meetings, case conferences, and training sessions aimed at enhancing clinical knowledge and fostering teamwork.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily focuses on serving patients in a hospice and palliative care context, many of whom may be dealing with terminal illness, major life changes, and associated emotional and psychological distress. You will facilitate support for not only the patients themselves but also their families, helping them to manage the emotional aspects of end-of-life care and bereavement.

Qualifications\n

• Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid LCSW licensure in Nevada.

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience , ideally in a healthcare or hospice setting.

• Thorough understanding of mental health disorders, particularly those related to grief and loss.

• Proficiency in administering and interpreting mental health assessments and treatment planning.
\n
• Demonstrated experience in individual and family therapy approaches.
\n
• Strong crisis intervention capabilities and the ability to maintain composure under stress.

• Excellent communication skills, allowing you to build trusting relationships with patients and families from diverse backgrounds.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and strong computer skills.

Compensation and Benefits\n

Our salary range for this position is competitive, with offers between USD 80,000 – 100,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
