Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive direct patient care by performing thorough physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, and developing treatment plans for various pain management conditions.
• Utilize a holistic approach to pain management by assessing each patient’s medical needs to prescribe appropriate medications and treatment protocols.
• Coordinate and oversee the activities of support staff engaged in patient care to enhance service delivery and ensure adherence to clinic protocols.
• Regularly refer patients to specialist consultations or coordinate with other healthcare professionals to create an integrated care plan when necessary.
• Adhere strictly to departmental policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives, focusing on safety and infection control measures.
• Actively participate in health promotion, disease prevention, and education initiatives to empower patients and enhance community health outcomes.
• Engage in continuous professional development and undertake additional duties as assigned to support overall health center operations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physician Assistant in Pain Management will primarily work with a diverse patient population experiencing various chronic pain conditions, including but not limited to fibromyalgia, arthritis, back pain, and neuropathy. Our approach emphasizes understanding each patient's unique situation, fostering trust, and creating tailored treatment strategies that help manage pain while promoting overall wellness.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant healthcare field. A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a specialization in Pain Management or related disciplines is highly preferred.
• An active Nurse Practitioner (NP) license to practice in the state of New York.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in pain management or a comparable specialty.
• Strong background in diagnosing and treating a range of pain-related disorders, with proven abilities in prescribing effective medication plans and managing complex patient care.
• Knowledge and practice of departmental policies, quality improvement standards, and infection control protocols that ensure patient safety and care quality.
