About the Position

A locum Physician role is available in Lebanon, PA , within a hospital-based cardiothoracic surgery service providing urgent and emergent cardiac surgical care . The physician will be responsible for evaluating, managing, and coordinating care for adult patients (18+) requiring cardiac surgery , including cases transitioning from the cath lab to the OR.

This role focuses on urgent cardiac surgical interventions, post-operative management, and ICU-to-discharge care , with support from advanced practice providers and a backup surgeon available after consultation. The environment utilizes EPIC EMR , and the physician will be involved in rounding, managing callbacks, and overseeing surgical care continuity across a busy inpatient cardiac surgery service.

Shift Timings:

• Friday 12:00 PM – Monday 7:00 AM
• 24-hour call coverage during weekends
• Schedule: 3 weekends per month
• Callback/rounding: ~2–4 hours per day

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Active Pennsylvania Medical License
• DEA License (Required)
• Minimum 1 year of experience
• Experience in urgent cardiac surgical care required
