Position Description - Associate Staff Accountant

Broad Description of Duties:

The Associate Staff Accountant is primarily responsible for a variety of accounting duties including the analytical review of sales reporting, daily sales auditing, journal entry preparation, and account reconciliations. This position also handles internal customer inquiries on a regular basis and helps bring all issues to resolution.

This position reports to the Sales Supervisor.

Essential Functions/Job Duties:

• Analytical review sales reporting data;

• Daily sales auditing;

• Actively participate in the period close process by analyzing information to prepare and enter journal entries into the financial system, effectively communicate the impact of these transactions during month-end review

• Reconcile month end accounts;

• Exhibit resourcefulness and ability to solve problems

• Uses Accounting knowledge to determine if transactions are recorded appropriately in accordance with GAAP

• Performs other duties as assigned

• Possess analytical skills and comprehension and the ability to communicate the results of the elementary to intermediate analysis performed;

• Must be organized and detailed;
• Must have ability to meet strict deadlines

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and/or hear, and/or use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to stand, and/or walk occasionally. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Education Required:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting strongly preferred
