Key Responsibilities\n

As a Mental Health Counselor, you will:

• Provide counseling and crisis intervention for patients experiencing emotional and behavioral challenges.

• Conduct thorough assessments to develop tailored treatment plans that address individual patient needs and concerns.
\n
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical records, including progress notes in accordance with department protocols.
\n
• Coordinate patient care by collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to report on client progress and any arising issues.
\n
• Engage with community resource groups, representing Shirley Mental Health Services to facilitate support systems that address patients’ social needs.
\n
• Develop and execute discharge plans in conjunction with treatment strategies, ensuring continuity of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The patients you will serve range from adolescents to adults dealing with a variety of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance abuse challenges. Your ability to connect with and understand diverse backgrounds will be key in providing effective therapeutic support. We need a counselor who recognizes the unique experiences of each individual and tailors interventions to promote recovery in a culturally sensitive manner.

Qualifications\n

To be considered for this position, you must have:

• A master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling.

• One of the following independent licenses: Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

• A minimum of two years of professional experience in a relevant mental health field, demonstrating the capacity to manage complex patient needs.

Preferred Experience\n

While not mandatory, experience in community behavioral health settings, crisis intervention, and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems would be advantageous. Previous roles involving collaboration with multidisciplinary teams are also beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits\n
