Pathways Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, a premier skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in the Capital Region, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Housekeeping Director to join our leadership team. Position Summary

As Assistant Housekeeping Director, you will support the Housekeeping Director in leading our housekeeping team to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, infection prevention, and resident comfort. This is a key role in ensuring our facility meets all regulatory requirements while creating a dignified and pleasant living space for our residents.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the daily oversight and management of the housekeeping department, including staff scheduling, training, and performance management.

Ensure all resident rooms, common areas, offices, and clinical spaces are cleaned and sanitized according to facility protocols and infection control standards.

Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations (including NYSDOH), OSHA, and infection prevention guidelines.

Support environmental services initiatives focused on resident safety, comfort, and satisfaction.

Conduct routine inspections, track supply inventory, and manage equipment maintenance.

Collaborate with nursing, maintenance, and other departments to address housekeeping-related needs promptly.

Participate in quality improvement programs and committee meetings as assigned.

Provide hands-on support during high-volume periods or staff shortages.

Qualifications

Minimum 2–3 years of housekeeping or environmental services experience in a healthcare setting (skilled nursing, hospital, or long-term care preferred).

Thorough knowledge of cleaning techniques, infection control, hazardous materials handling, and laundry operations.

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or relevant certifications a plus.

Must be able to pass a background check and meet all NY state employment requirements.
