The flexibility of the Monday to Friday schedule ensures a healthy work-life balance while allowing you to focus on delivering individualized patient care. You'll collaborate closely with a team of healthcare professionals, including nurses, social workers, and physical therapy assistants, fostering a supportive and teamwork-oriented atmosphere.Key ResponsibilitiesYou will play a vital role in assessing and treating patients with various physical therapy needs. Your key responsibilities will include:Directing tailored physical therapy treatment plans designed to prevent disability, relieve pain, and improve or restore muscle function.Overseeing the work of physical therapy assistants to ensure the delivery of care aligns with the prescribed treatment plans.Conducting thorough evaluations of clients' functional abilities using a variety of diagnostic tests to tailor interventions effectively.Assessing clients' home environments for rehabilitation suitability and making appropriate recommendations to enhance client independence.Administering therapeutic exercises and techniques, providing instruction, motivation, and support to clients during their rehabilitation process.Evaluating and fitting prosthetic and orthotic devices to optimize functional mobility and offering modifications as necessary.Documenting clinical records meticulously, including evaluations, care plans, and progress notes, to maintain accurate patient histories.Engaging as a core member of the interdisciplinary team, contributing to case conferences and the comprehensive planning of treatment protocols.Consulting with clients and their families regarding physical therapy programs and the proper care of therapeutic devices.Timely submission of clinical orders and documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures.Performing functional assessments on-site and revising care plans based on ongoing evaluations of community resources.Providing support and guidance to Assistants during client treatment sessions as required by state regulations.Patient Population / Client FocusYou will be working with a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from surgery, injuries, or chronic conditions who require home-based therapeutic interventions. Each client's treatment plan will be customized, focusing on their unique needs and goals to maximize their recovery and overall quality of life.QualificationsGraduation from an accredited Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) program.A valid physical therapy license in good standing for the state of Virginia.Current CPR certification to ensure safety in clinical practices.Strong commitment to clinical excellence, integrity, and a compassionate approach to patient care.Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage patients and their families effectively.Creativity in problem-solving and the capacity for making informed clinical decisions.Proficient in understanding and adhering to federal, state, and governing agency regulations.Preferred ExperienceWhile one year of experience as a physical therapist—preferably in acute care or home care settings—is required, we value candidates who demonstrate strong clinical skills and a genuine dedication to patient care.
