Introduction
- This position is set aside for people with differing abilities
- Documented proof of disability is required prior to interview
- This position is located in Beltsville, MD
- The core working hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday
- Starting pay is $20.12 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Provide courteous, fast and efficient service in all phases of the mail room duties
- Accurately sorting, logging in, tracking, picking up, and delivering the mail
- Provide all mail services according to contract requirements
- Experience with the U.S. Postal Service, FedEx, and UPS preferred
- Receive, sort and dispatch mail to centralized locations
- Pick up outgoing mail
- Maintain chain of custody log books
- Meter all outgoing mail
- Deliver outgoing mail for processing
- All other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications
- Pre-employment criminal background checks, government security clearance checks, and drug testing are required for this position
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Government Security Clearance
- Must be able to stand/walk 80% of the time
- Must be able to lift, carry, push and or pull 50 lbs
- Must be able to read, speak, hear and see
- All of these requirements are necessary in order to properly accomplish all essential functions within this job description
- Must be able to work independently and follow direction with little supervision
