Data Center Procurement Manager

Our client is a rapidly growing AI infrastructure operator developing and operating large-scale, high-density data center campuses across the United States and internationally.

\n

As the business continues to scale, it is seeking a Data Center Procurement Manager to lead procurement across major data center development, construction and operational programmes.

\n

This is a hands-on role requiring strong commercial judgement, technical knowledge and the ability to manage complex procurement packages in a fast-moving environment. You will work closely with construction, engineering, operations, finance and supply chain teams to ensure critical equipment and services are sourced competitively and delivered in line with demanding project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Lead end-to-end procurement for data center construction, fit-out and operational requirements.
\n
• Develop sourcing strategies across electrical, mechanical, cooling, power, network and white-space infrastructure .
\n
• Procure critical equipment, including transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, chillers, cooling systems, PDUs, busways and BMS/DCIM solutions .
\n
• Manage RFIs, RFPs and RFQs from scope development through commercial evaluation, negotiation and contract award.
\n
• Partner with engineering and construction teams to translate technical requirements into commercially robust sourcing packages.
\n
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, warranties, service-level agreements, payment terms and contractual protections.
\n
• Identify and manage long-lead equipment risks that could affect construction and deployment schedules.
\n
• Build strong relationships with OEMs, distributors, general contractors and specialist data center suppliers.
\n
• Track manufacturing schedules, factory acceptance testing, logistics and final delivery to project sites.
\n
• Lead supplier qualification, performance reviews and corrective-action programmes.
\n
• Establish alternative suppliers and dual-sourcing strategies to improve supply-chain resilience.
\n
• Maintain procurement schedules, cost forecasts, savings reports and supplier risk registers.
\n
• Ensure procurement activity complies with internal governance, budget controls and relevant regulatory requirements.
\n
• Work closely with finance and legal teams on purchase orders, contracts, invoicing and commercial risk.
\n
• Help develop scalable procurement processes, systems and reporting as the organisation grows.

Candidate Profile

\n

\n
• Significant procurement, strategic sourcing or supply-chain experience within data centers, mission-critical infrastructure, construction, energy or complex engineering environments .
\n
• Strong understanding of data center mechanical and electrical infrastructure.
\n
• Experience procuring major capital equipment and managing complex construction or infrastructure packages.
\n
• Demonstrated success negotiating high-value agreements with OEMs, general contractors and specialist suppliers.
\n
• Comfortable supporting multiple projects, buildings or locations simultaneously.
\n
• Strong knowledge of commercial terms, contracts, warranties, payment structures and supplier risk.
\n
• Ability to interpret technical specifications, scopes of work, bills of quantities and project schedules.
\n
• Experience managing long-lead equipment and working directly with manufacturing partners.
\n
• Strong analytical, organisational and stakeholder-management skills.
\n
• Commercially assertive while capable of developing collaborative, long-term supplier relationships.
\n
• Comfortable operating in a high-growth environment where processes are continuing to evolve.
\n
• Willing to travel regularly across the United States.
\n

Preferred Experience

\n

\n
• Experience supporting hyperscale, colocation, NeoCloud, AI infrastructure or high-density computing environments .
\n
• Established relationships with US data center OEMs, contractors and equipment suppliers.
\n
• Experience supporting multiple concurrent data center construction or expansion programmes.
\n
• Knowledge of ERP, procurement and contract-management platforms.
\n
• A relevant qualification in procurement, supply chain, engineering, construction or commercial management.
