Work Environment

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work in a dynamic, collaborative hospital environment that emphasizes teamwork and interdisciplinary communication. You will adhere to a structured schedule, working weekdays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist physical therapists in executing individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments, ensuring all interventions optimize recovery.
• Conduct and guide patients through therapeutic exercises, balance training, and mobility techniques to enhance their physical functions.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas, preparing necessary equipment and supplies required for daily therapy sessions.
• Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems, such as WebPT, to document patient progress and treatment outcomes, ensuring accurate and timely patient records.
• Support administrative duties such as patient scheduling, processing billing information, and engaging in effective communication with patients and families.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role primarily involves working with patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, injuries, and chronic pain conditions. This may include post-operative rehabilitation for joint replacements, treatment for sports injuries, and programs to enhance mobility and strength in older adults. Your tailored approach to therapy will help patients regain their independence and improve their quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.
• Current and active Physical Therapist Assistant license in California.
• A minimum of two years of hands-on experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting.
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as WebPT to ensure documentation compliance.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with manual therapy techniques such as soft tissue mobilization and joint mobilization to provide comprehensive care.
• Proven ability to develop strong rapport with patients, fostering a motivating and supportive environment.
• Knowledge of exercise prescription and the ability to adapt patient programs based on individual progress and feedback.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected annual salary for this position ranges from USD 60,000 to 70,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
