Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients' physical conditions through thorough evaluations, medical histories, and specific assessments to develop personalized treatment plans.
• Implement and adjust treatment protocols based on continual assessments, ensuring the evolving needs of the patient are met effectively.
• Document patient progress meticulously, creating a detailed medical record that illustrates each stage of care, from initial assessment through discharge.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes, providing expert consultation when necessary.
• Stay abreast of changes in best practices and adapt treatment modalities accordingly to enhance patient engagement and recovery success.
• Provide education to patients and families about rehabilitation processes, expected outcomes, and ways to participate in their own recovery.
• Participate in regular team meetings to discuss treatment strategies and to remove barriers to patient access and care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work primarily with patients experiencing a range of orthopedic conditions, including post-surgical recovery, sports injuries, and chronic pain disorders. Your expertise will play a critical role in helping these individuals regain their mobility and improve their quality of life. You will engage with patients from diverse backgrounds, tailoring your approach to fit their unique needs and circumstances.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited physical therapy program is required for this role.
• Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist by the Physical Therapy Examining Committee in Virginia.
• Experience of at least two years in an outpatient orthopedic setting is mandatory.
• A valid CPR certification is necessary to ensure patient safety and care excellence.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, candidates with additional certifications in specialized therapeutic modalities or a background in sports rehabilitation will be viewed favorably.
