Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive initial assessments: Perform preliminary interviews and document case histories from the first consultation through the conclusion of treatment.

• Evaluate mental health status: Assess clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health to determine appropriate treatment strategies.
\n
• Develop personalized recovery plans: Utilize clinical skills to create tailored intervention plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups based on their diagnostic information.

• Facilitate therapy sessions: Lead individual and group therapy sessions, applying evidence-based practices to promote client engagement and self-discovery.

• Monitor client progress: Assess ongoing treatment outcomes and make necessary adjustments to intervention plans to ensure effective addressal of client needs.

• Collaborate with healthcare professionals: Work in conjunction with psychiatrists, social workers, and other clinical staff to develop coordinated care plans. Regularly communicate with multidisciplinary team members to optimize client outcomes.

• Manage referrals: Identify and coordinate additional services, including hospital admissions, when required for clients in crisis.

• Provide support to families: Guide family members and caregivers in understanding and managing the mental health challenges faced by their loved ones.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will work with a diverse array of clients, including children, adolescents, adults, and families facing various mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, and significant life transitions. Your expertise will assist in fostering resilience and recovery in clients, promoting overall emotional wellness.

Qualifications\n

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R within New York State.
\n
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Demonstrated experience as a mental health counselor, showcasing the ability to provide effective therapeutic support.

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, ensuring seamless documentation and continuity of care.
\n
• Knowledge of co-occurring conditions, including addiction and physical health disorders, enhancing treatment approaches.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey treatment goals and collaborate with team members.
\n
• Empathetic and personable demeanor, capable of establishing strong rapport with clients from varying backgrounds.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience working in an outpatient setting, supporting diverse client populations with a range of mental health issues.

• Familiarity with best practices as recommended by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• In-depth understanding of psychotropic medications prescribed by medical professionals and their implications for client care.

• Previous engagement in continuing education to stay current with developments in therapeutic practices.

Compensation and Benefits\n

Centered Living Counseling Services offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
