Labor & Employment Associate - Sacramento

About the Role Our client, a highly regarded Am Law 100 law firm, is seeking a Labor & Employment Associate to join its Sacramento office. This is an opportunity to join a nationally recognized employment practice and work alongside experienced attorneys on sophisticated workplace matters. The team represents employers across a variety of industries and offers associates meaningful responsibility, direct client interaction, and exposure to a broad range of labor and employment issues. Role Summary The associate will work closely with clients and senior attorneys on a variety of employment matters, ranging from single-plaintiff disputes to complex workplace issues. This role offers hands-on experience, substantive responsibility, and the opportunity to develop a well-rounded labor and employment practice within a collaborative team environment. Key Responsibilities Represent employers in state and federal employment litigation. Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation-related documents. Participate in depositions, mediations, hearings, and other case-related proceedings. Handle matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, leave and accommodation, and wrongful termination claims. Assist employers with administrative charges and agency investigations. Advise clients on employment law compliance, workplace policies, and risk management issues. Collaborate with attorneys across a nationally recognized Labor & Employment practice. Qualifications 2-5 years of labor and employment law experience. Active California bar admission required. Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills. Experience managing litigation responsibilities and client interaction. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
