Admissions Coordinator

We are now accepting applications for a qualified Admissions Coordinator at Belmont University. Employment Details Employment Type: Staff. Internal Job Category: Exempt (Staff), Full-Time. Department: College of Medicine. Hours: 37.5 per week. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Assist in processing applications to the Frist College of Medicine, including communicating with applicants and implementing admissions processing systems (WebAdmit, Slate, Banner) with strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and customer service. Collaborate with the Assistant Dean for Admissions and admissions application readers to ensure expediency, continuity, and fairness, and assist in building and producing regular reports for the Assistant Dean and the Committee on Admissions. Assist in planning, implementing, and continuously improving medical student interview days and accepted student visits. Provide counseling and feedback to candidates about the application process and reapplications. Participate in collecting and monitoring on‑boarding activities and requirements for new medical students, including planning, scheduling, and executing new medical student orientation. Required Qualifications Analytical Thinking: Ability to identify issues, gather relevant information, compare data from multiple sources, and propose alternative solutions. Critical Thinking: Interprets information, uses independent reasoning to diagnose root causes, tests solutions, and considers broader impacts on decision making. Project/Program/Service Management: Ability to coordinate and administer programs, manage resources, monitor activities, and assess risks and quality issues. Written and Oral Communications: Ability to present information clearly and concisely to individuals or groups, listen and respond appropriately, and influence others toward institutional objectives. Technical, Computer, and Software Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and basic databases and software. Experience working in a fast‑paced environment and ability to respond to high‑pressure situations. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Required Education Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred. Required Experience 1–3 years of experience in a higher education or admissions setting are required. Admissions experience in graduate health professions is preferred. The selected candidate will be required to complete a background check satisfactory to the University.
