An exciting opportunity awaits an experienced middle school science educator seeking a contract role in a vibrant urban environment near Philadelphia, PA. This full-time, onsite position spans the academic school year (beginning immediately and concluding on June 10, 2027), working 35 hours per week with a commitment between 8:30AM and 4PM. The role is focused on teaching general education science, with a caseload primarily of general education students, though some collaboration may occur alongside special education team members.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Pennsylvania teaching certification or licensure suitable for the assigned science caseload
• Bachelor’s degree required (required for eligibility for an emergency teaching permit)
• Demonstrated mastery of middle school science subject matter, instructional strategies, and curricular resources
• Prior school-based experience and a track record of success in classroom and behavioral management, especially in an urban setting
• Proficiency in creating lesson plans aligned to state and district standards, formative assessment, and differentiated instruction
• Adept at working with general education populations and collaborating with SPED professionals when needed
• Ability to complete all required Pennsylvania clearances
• Reliable transportation to and from the worksite
• Comfort and adaptability within district environments and locations
• Must be available onsite; no work schedule accommodations

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality science instruction to middle school students, ensuring lessons are engaging, standards-aligned, and inclusive
• Develop and implement lesson plans, monitor student progress, and adjust teaching methods as needed for differentiated learning
• Collaborate with colleagues, including special education educators, to provide the best possible student outcomes
• Maintain a structured, positive, and supportive classroom environment
