Within our Aerospace, Defense & Government (ADG) practice, we partner with government contractors to deliver accurate, compliant, and reliable accounting support that helps clients focus on their mission.As an Outsourced Accounting Associate, you'll support government contracting clients while learning from experienced accountants, former business owners, and industry specialists. This is a great opportunity to build a strong foundation in government contract accounting while gaining exposure to multiple clients and industries.What You'll DoAssist with accounts payable processing, from invoice entry through check runsSupport accounts receivable, including customer invoicing and payment trackingAssist with job costing for government contractsRecord daily cash activity and depositsPrepare monthly bank and account reconciliationsAssist with payroll processing, payroll journal entries, and vacation balance updatesSupport general ledger maintenance and reconciliationsAssist with month-end close activitiesHelp prepare financial reports, schedules, and forecasts, as neededMaintain organized vendor files, accounting records, and supporting documentationPrepare and update recurring spreadsheets and tracking reportsResearch accounting questions and assist with responding to client inquiriesSupport timely, accurate deliverables and a positive client experienceWhat We're Looking For2–4 years of accounting experience (public accounting, outsourced accounting, or industry experience preferred)Experience working for or with government contractors preferredExposure to Unanet, Costpoint, and/or QuickBooks strongly preferredFoundational understanding of GAAP and general ledger accountingFamiliarity with government contracting concepts (FAR, indirect rates, job costing) is a plusStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple assignments and deadlinesClear, professional communication and customer service skillsProficiency with Microsoft Excel and WordEagerness to learn, ask questions, and grow in a client-facing environmentWhy AprioHands-on experience supporting real government contracting clientsCoaching and mentorship from experienced accounting professionalsExposure to multiple clients, systems, and accounting scenariosA collaborative, supportive culture that values learning and developmentWe're looking for a motivated early-career professional who takes pride in accuracy, organization, and providing excellent service — and who's excited to grow their accounting career at Aprio.$68,000 - $78,000 a year The salary range for this opportunity is stated above.
