This position is remote, allowing flexibility while maintaining accessibility for our clientele. Our operational hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts to accommodate patient needs. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly clients, considering their specific psychological, social, and cognitive needs.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based approaches and considering the complexities of geriatric mental health.

• Provide therapeutic interventions, including individual and family therapy, ensuring practices are tailored to the unique circumstances of each patient.

• Collaborate proactively with geriatric psychiatrists and other healthcare providers to deliver integrated and comprehensive care to patients.

• Respond effectively to crises, providing support to elderly patients experiencing mental health emergencies.

• Educate patients and their families about mental health issues, treatment options, and community resources available to them.

• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring compliance and best practices.

• Engage in regular team meetings and case consultations to discuss treatment strategies and case progress.

• Stay up-to-date with current research and best practices in geriatric mental health treatment, proactively incorporating new knowledge into practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role is focused exclusively on the geriatric population, addressing mental health issues such as age-associated depression, anxiety, dementia, and adjustment-related difficulties. You will work closely with elderly individuals and their families, aiming to enhance their psychological resilience and quality of life through tailored therapeutic interventions. Understanding the diverse needs of this demographic will be critical in fostering trust and effective therapeutic alliances.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Possession of a current and valid license as an LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT within the state of Washington.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling, particularly with elderly clients, is preferred.

• Comprehensive knowledge of geriatric mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment methodologies, and care strategies.

• Demonstrated experience in delivering successful therapy for both individuals and families dealing with the complexities of aging.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with elderly patients and their families.

• Strong organizational skills and proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other healthcare information technologies.

Preferred Experience\n

While a minimum of two years post-licensure experience is preferred, candidates with more extensive experience in geriatric mental health, crisis intervention, or related fields will be given additional consideration. Compensation and Benefits\n
