Key Responsibilities\n

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Offering trauma-informed counseling services tailored to the unique needs of individuals, couples, and families.

• Incorporating Christian counseling principles into therapy sessions for clients seeking a faith-based approach, fostering an environment of trust and understanding.

• Developing and implementing personalized treatment plans that align with clients’ goals, monitoring their progress, and adjusting interventions as needed.

• Providing counseling services to clients referred from local churches, emphasizing support and resources within the community.

• Engaging in community outreach and networking initiatives to expand our caseload and develop new referral sources, essential for sustaining and growing our practice.

• Maintaining comprehensive client records and entering progress notes into our Electronic Health Records (EHR) system in a timely manner.

• Communicating transparently with the center director regarding your scheduling preferences and availability, fostering a smooth operational flow.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our mental health services cater to a diverse range of clients, including individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, and relational difficulties. Counselors will engage with clients from various backgrounds, with a focus on integrating spirituality into healing processes for those who are open to faith-based counseling. This allows our team to provide holistic care that respects both emotional and spiritual needs.

Qualifications\n

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

• A Master's degree in counseling, social work, or a related mental health field.

• Strong knowledge of Biblical counseling techniques and their application in therapeutic settings.

• Must hold an independently licensed status in Washington, D.C., or be within 200 hours of completing residency for licensure.

• Dual licensure in Virginia or Maryland is highly desired, though not mandatory.
\n
• Completion of EMDR training or a willingness to undergo basic training within three months of employment.

• Proficient understanding of various therapeutic modalities and interventions suitable for a wide spectrum of clients.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to ensure effective engagement with clients and colleagues.

• A compassionate, empathetic approach to counseling while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical guidelines.

Preferred Experience\n

While a minimum of one year of experience in trauma counseling is required, candidates with additional credentials or experience working with faith-based organizations, community outreach programs, or specialized therapeutic techniques will be highly regarded.

Compensation and Benefits\n
