Senior Director, Clinical Development (MD)

Kite, a Gilead subsidiary focused on cancer therapies, seeks a Senior Director of Clinical Development to lead oncology drug development programs from early stages through regulatory submissions. The role requires an MD/DO with 6+ years of biopharmaceutical experience and involves strategic oversight of clinical studies, cross-functional collaboration, and external stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities
- Lead clinical development strategy for oncology programs from IND-enabling activities through early development milestones
- Provide medical oversight and monitoring across clinical studies ensuring safety, data integrity, and quality execution
- Lead cross-functional teams in designing and implementing clinical development plans and studies
- Author and review protocols, investigator brochures, regulatory documents, and clinical study reports
- Present clinical data and development strategies to governance committees and health authorities; mentor junior physicians
Requirements
- MD or DO degree with 6+ years clinical and drug development experience
- Substantial biopharmaceutical clinical development background
- Board certification in Hematology/Oncology or related specialty preferred
- Proven experience leading oncology drug development programs with clinical strategy responsibility
- Experience with first-in-human, proof-of-concept, and registrational development programs
- Cell therapy experience, including autologous, allogeneic, or in vivo platforms preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead interactions with global health authorities
