Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough initial assessments through preliminary interviews, establishing a comprehensive understanding of clients' needs from the onset of treatment.

• Evaluate clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health to diagnose disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.

• Create tailored intervention strategies and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, addressing specific therapeutic goals.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, employing diverse therapeutic techniques to promote healing and coping skills.

• Track clients' progress in real-time, adjusting treatment plans to ensure responsiveness to their evolving needs.

• Collaborate with fellow mental health professionals, including doctors, nurses, and social workers, to enhance treatment effectiveness and outcomes.

• Coordinate with psychiatrists and other healthcare providers for clients requiring hospitalization, ensuring continuity of care.

• Identify and proactively manage issues that may impede clients' recovery, providing practical strategies to overcome these challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The counselor will serve a diverse population, including adults, adolescents, and families facing a variety of mental health challenges, from anxiety and depression to trauma and relationship issues. Qualifications\n

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California.

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Strong foundational knowledge of a range of therapeutic modalities and mental health conditions.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly AVATAR, to manage case notes, documentation, and treatment plans.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on empathetic and clear client interactions.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience in a clinical counseling setting is highly desirable, ideally within outpatient services.

• Understanding of the intersection of mental health issues with physical health and addiction disorders.
