Serve as an example for the team, maintain inventory, record deliveries, manage discrepancies, and aid in storage. Use kitchen equipment such as steamers, ovens, mixers, grills, and dishwashing equipment. Compensation The hourly rate for this position is $27.00 to $31.00. Job Responsibilities Oversee and support line cooks, synchronize food procurement and other food preparation tasks, ensuring labor and cost control goals are not exceeded. Read and follow recipes, prepare and cook hot and cold food items. Ensure daily prepped foods are sufficient so the restaurant runs smoothly and efficiently. Prepare and plate final food products with attractive presentation. Ensure all food orders are completed efficiently. Order and receive food product from vendors, check invoices and log receiving. Assist in conducting food and beverage inventories, noting any out-of-stock items or possible shortages. Maintain knowledge of culinary trends and use them appropriately. Ensure proper handling of all food products and equipment, adhering to food safety and kitchen standards. Maintain cleanliness and high sanitation standards at all times. Organize and maintain stock rooms and walk-in refrigerators. At the end of the shift, return all food items to designated storage areas, cover and date perishable items. Train line cooks on all aspects of the role, enhancing their cooking skills. Schedule labor according to budget guidelines and keep employee schedules updated. Be flexible and willing to work a rotational schedule with days off that may include weekends and holidays. Maintain a high level of professionalism and be well groomed at all times. Perform all miscellaneous duties assigned by upper management. Know and comply with all company policies and procedures regarding safety, security, emergencies, and energy. Report to work on time and in complete uniform. Use appropriate PPE for the task assigned. Report all injuries immediately to manager or supervisor. Understand the proper use and storage of chemicals used in the location and be familiar with the chemical MSDS book. Qualifications Must read, write, and understand verbal instructions. Must complete a sanitation course either before or during the first year. Must be knowledgeable in operating an efficient, cost‑effective program. Ability to perform basic arithmetic. Maintain emotional control under stress. Ability to resolve interpersonal situations. Strong organizational skills.
