Change Point Counseling Center is actively seeking a compassionate and experienced Substance Use Disorder Counselor to join our team in providing high-quality mental health care to individuals battling addiction. In this full-time remote position, you will have the opportunity to facilitate patient recovery through evidence-based therapies and a supportive therapeutic environment. Work Environment\n

This position is fully remote, allowing for flexibility in your working schedule. Our Telehealth facility utilizes robust digital platforms to ensure continuity of care through virtual therapy sessions. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, addiction specialists, and fellow counselors to provide integrated support. Scheduled work hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with the possibility of some evening shifts based on patient needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate the psychological and social needs of clients seeking treatment for substance use disorders.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans based on comprehensive assessments and best practices in therapeutic interventions.

• Provide one-on-one counseling sessions utilizing modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing to assist clients in their recovery journey.

• Facilitate engaging group therapy sessions, fostering a sense of community and shared experience among participants.
\n
• Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to ensure a fully integrated care approach, sharing insights and recommendations as needed.

• Offer crisis intervention strategies for clients experiencing urgent substance-related emergencies, ensuring prompt and compassionate support.

• Educate clients and their families about addiction, treatment processes, recovery strategies, and community resources to empower them in their recovery.

• Maintain accurate and confidential case files in compliance with all applicable legal and ethical standards.

• Actively participate in team meetings, case reviews, and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge of the latest treatment methodologies.

• Stay informed about advancements in addiction therapy and contribute to our practice's knowledge base.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily work with individuals grappling with substance use disorders, including but not limited to alcohol, opioids, and other drugs. Your expertise will guide clients through the recovery process, supporting them as they face both personal challenges and the stigmas associated with addiction. Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field is required.

• At least one year of experience in a mental health counseling environment, particularly with substance use disorders.

• Current and valid licensure such as LCSW, LPC, or LMFT within the state of New Jersey.

• A comprehensive understanding of addiction treatments and recovery principles, including evidence-based practice.

• Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, demonstrating a non-judgmental and empathetic approach in all client interactions.

• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and the ability to document patient notes effectively and efficiently.

• Capacity to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team, contributing to shared goals and project outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits\n
