Work Environment

The Dermatology Nurse Practitioner will work in a dynamic assisted living facility where you will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including medical doctors, nurses, and support staff. Key Responsibilities

• Manage comprehensive patient care by performing thorough assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering medical interventions aligned with dermatological best practices.
• Educate patients and families on pre- and post-care procedures, ensuring clarity and adherence to treatment protocols for optimal outcomes.
• Monitor patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to cater to the evolving needs of each individual.
• Facilitate effective communication with facility MDs to collaborate on care plans for patients with specialized dermatological needs.
• Participate in departmental activities such as in-services, educational programs, and competency evaluations to maintain high standards of professional and clinical practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will work predominantly with older adults residing in the assisted living facility, addressing various dermatological concerns ranging from common skin conditions to cosmetic inquiries. Understanding the unique challenges faced by this demographic, such as the impact of aging on skin health and the emotional components of aesthetic treatments, is crucial for effective patient engagement.

Qualifications

• A Master's Degree in Nursing is required.
• Current Nurse Practitioners Certification (NP-C) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification are mandatory.
• Ability to demonstrate competency in providing care tailored to patients’ age, sex, and specific health needs.
• Adherence to safety protocols and wearing protective gear as necessary during procedures and patient interactions.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of one year of clinical experience in dermatology is required; however, four or more years in a supervisory or decision-making capacity in nursing is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems and telemedicine platforms to streamline patient care and documentation.

Compensation and Benefits
