Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med Surg/Tele Float Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour; Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care experience License: Current RN License Certifications: AHA BLS Must-Have: Epic experience required Surge Space or Float Pool experience preferred Telemetry experience required Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse in the Med Surg/Tele Float Pool. This role requires supporting the Emergency Department by caring for patients awaiting bed placement. When not needed in the Emergency Department, the RN will float to other acute care units throughout the facility. The average patient ratio for day shift is 4-5:1 and may go up to 6:1 occasionally. For night shift, the ratio is 5-6:1 with a maximum of 7:1 occasionally. Candidates must be comfortable working in environments with flexible staffing ratios. Successful candidates will possess skills in blood product administration, central line care, and telemetry monitoring. Additional responsibilities include phlebotomy, starting and managing IVs, and wound care. The position also requires adherence to isolation precautions and safe medication administration protocols. Candidates should be prepared to handle a variety of patient diagnoses and participate in interdisciplinary support.
