Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments using evidence-based practices to develop personalized treatment plans tailored to clients' specific mental health needs. Implement a variety of therapeutic interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), ensuring clients receive the most effective care for their mental health conditions. Maintain meticulous and confidential clinical records, adhering to HIPAA and other regulatory standards, demonstrating a commitment to ethical practice. Engage in regular collaboration with a multidisciplinary treatment team, including psychiatrists and psychologists, to ensure holistic care strategies are implemented effectively. Participate in ongoing case consultations and peer review meetings to share insights, enhance care quality, and stay informed about best practices in the mental health field. Educate clients and their families about mental health conditions and available resources, offering guidance that helps them navigate the challenges they face. Stay updated with the latest research and treatment options in mental health to ensure your practice is informed by the latest evidence-based approaches. Patient Population / Client Focus Your work will primarily focus on school-aged clients grappling with a variety of mental health issues, including trauma, anxiety, and depression. You will play a pivotal role in helping these young individuals recognize and cope with their challenges, fostering resilience, and guiding them toward successful outcomes. Qualifications A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. An active license to practice as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in New York. Experience in solution-focused psychotherapy interventions, tailoring treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each client. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build strong therapeutic relationships with clients. Solid problem-solving and critical thinking abilities for navigating complex client scenarios and driving positive outcomes. A collaborative spirit, valuing teamwork and the input of colleagues in a supportive environment. Preferred Experience A minimum of three years of experience in a mental health counseling setting, with a proven track record of successful client outcomes. Experience working with diverse populations in various clinical environments, particularly schools. Knowledge of best practices in the implementation of evidence-based therapy modalities.
