Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of K-12 students as a valued school psychologist in a dynamic urban district. In this onsite contract role for the 2026-2027 academic year, you’ll support students with mild to moderate disabilities, working closely with educators, families, and support staff to foster academic, social, and emotional growth.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Michigan School Psychologist certification or Preliminary School Psychologist Certification required
• Must provide official university transcripts prior to district consideration
• Prior experience as a school psychologist or related agency role preferred
• Familiarity with the Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) and related IDEA Federal Regulations
• Comfortable collaborating in an urban educational setting and addressing challenges unique to urban youth
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with parents, students, and multidisciplinary teams
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and implementing special education policies consistently

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough psychological assessments, including cognitive, academic, adaptive, and social-emotional evaluations, to help determine student eligibility for special education services
• Participate in early identification and intervention planning for students facing academic, social, or emotional obstacles
• Convey assessment findings clearly to families and staff, supporting effective educational planning
• Collaborate dynamically with special education teams, school staff, and community resources to address student needs
• Engage in professional growth activities, trainings, and in-service sessions to maintain best practices
• Ensure compliance with special education law and best practice guidelines
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture, embracing the nuances and strengths of an urban district

This is a full-time, onsite position (35 hours per week) supporting approximately 60-student caseloads across multiple grade levels. Your expertise will directly impact the lives of Flint-area students and their families.
