D800 Superior Court About the Position The Court Administration Assistant provides administrative support to the Court Reporters department in a high-volume work environment that experiences multi changes throughout the day which requires flexibility, the ability to multi-task, have strong interpersonal skills, use strong organizational and communication skills to provide exemplary service, both internally (court reporters, judicial officers, division staff, etc.) and externally (the public, attorneys, etc.), ensuring that the needs of the Court are met effectively.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may need to communicate clearly, perceive details of objects that are close by, and maintain various physical positions for extended periods, such as sitting, standing, or walking. The job may involve using hands for tasks such as typing, handling objects, or operating tools, as well as reaching with hands and arms. Typically, successful candidates are hired at a salary rate up to the midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.

The Judicial Branch of Arizona in Maricopa County participates in the State Retirement systems ASRS or PSPRS. As such, mandatory membership for all full-time employees includes payroll deducted contributions consistent with each retirement system's requirements. The current contribution rate for ASRS is 12.27% and the current contribution rate for PSPRS is 5.84% and up for the defined contribution plan and 8.82% for the defined benefit plan. For more information about contributions and benefits of these plans visit or Judicial Branch facilities are located throughout Maricopa County. This position may be reassigned to other locations. - High School Diploma or GED
- Two (2) years of general clerical or administrative experience
- An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and job-related experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis
- Principles and processes for providing customer service including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction
- The use of computer applications including spreadsheets, databases, and word processing and scheduling software.
- Written and verbal communication with others to convey information effectively
- Providing exemplary customer service
- Learn policies, procedures, and guidelines established by the Court
- Respond courteously to concerns of the public, attorneys, and employees
- Use effective time management skills to handle multiple tasks at one time
- Excel in a high volume and time-sensitive work environment
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
- Understand and accurately brief oral and written instructions
- Make sound decisions in accordance with regulations, policies, and procedures
- Work as a member of a team with minimal supervision
- Provides administrative support to the department, which includes scheduling court reporters to hearings and trials.
- Directs the public to appropriate court programs, resources, facilities and outside agencies.
- Responds to inquiries regarding court reporter transcripts, answers questions from the public, attorneys, judicial officers, and judicial branch staff.
- Performs a variety of case research functions, which may include reviewing case status in our case management system (iCIS).
- Uses ICIS and other court software to assist customers with case information.
- Assists in scheduling court reporters for their next day assignment, which includes researching hearings and trials.
- Conducts office clerical work (copies, errands, organization)
- Conducts the ordering of departmental supplies and monitors inventory of supplies.
- Archiving past schedules in an organized and timely matter.
- Processes all Grand Jury Transcripts and invoices for payment.
- May be required to conduct other duties as assigned.
