Business Development Manager – Building Management Systems (BMS) & Temperature Controls Location: New York, NY (Onsite) Territory: New Jersey Market Focus Position Type: Full-Time Compensation: $150,000 – $170,000 base salary + performance-based bonus Position Summary The Business Development Manager – Building Management Systems (BMS) & Temperature Controls will lead sales and business development efforts for advanced building automation and energy management solutions. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, developing new business opportunities, managing client relationships, and partnering with technical teams to deliver customized solutions. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in BMS, HVAC controls, temperature controls, or energy management sales, with strong relationships across consulting engineers, contractors, facility owners, and commercial building stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets. Identify and pursue new business opportunities while expanding existing client relationships. Build relationships with consulting engineers, mechanical contractors, general contractors, and facility owners. Collaborate with consulting engineers on control specifications and upcoming project opportunities. Present and promote BMS, temperature control, and energy management solutions. Conduct technical presentations, lunch-and-learns, and solution discussions with prospective clients. Partner with technical sales and engineering teams to develop proposals and support successful project delivery. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve business objectives. Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments. Represent the organization at industry events and trade shows. Mentor and support sales team performance while collaborating with internal operations, engineering, finance, and service teams. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred. 5+ years of experience in BMS, HVAC controls, temperature controls, or building automation sales. Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales goals. Strong knowledge of building automation systems and energy management solutions. Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and closing skills. Experience working with consulting engineers, contractors, and commercial building clients.
