The Accounts Receivable Specialist plays a crucial role in managing patient billing and insurance claims within a small team of 1-5 members. The specialist ensures accuracy in invoice processing, timely payment posting, and thorough account reconciliation using healthcare payment software such as Athena and QuickBooks Online. This position supports collections, generates financial reports, and maintains data accuracy, with minimal direct interaction with insurance providers. Opportunities for advancement and cross-training are available.

Responsibilities

• Process invoices and post payments accurately
• Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies
• Manage insurance claim submissions and follow-ups
• Oversee collections and handle overdue accounts
• Generate regular financial and accounts receivable reports
• Perform precise data entry related to billing and payments

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business
• 1+ years experience in accounts receivable
• Knowledge of medical billing and accounts receivable processes a plus
• Experience with insurance claims processing
• Proficiency in billing software (Athena, Eclinical, Bill.com, QuickBooks Online)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Effective time management abilities
