Work Environment

This position entails providing care directly in patients' homes, which allows for a more individualized approach to rehabilitation. Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive evaluations and assessments of patients with orthopedic conditions, including fractures, joint replacements, and chronic pain disorders.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on each patient's specific needs, goals, and progress.
• Utilize a variety of treatment techniques, including manual therapy, exercise prescription, and modalities such as heat and electrical stimulation, to maximize patient outcomes.
• Guide and supervise physical therapist assistants when applicable, ensuring that care protocols are executed effectively and patient progress is monitored closely.
• Educate patients and their families regarding treatment plans, exercises, and strategies to promote recovery and prevent further injury.
• Document patient progress accurately and comprehensively, adhering to professional and organizational standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The role primarily focuses on treating adolescents, adults, and older adults with orthopedic conditions. This includes facilitating recovery from surgical procedures, managing chronic pain, and addressing mobility issues related to injury or age-related changes. Some specialized roles may involve providing pediatric orthopedic care, allowing you to impact a diverse range of patient needs.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution is required; a Master's Degree is preferred for advanced practice.
• Active state licensure or certification in physical therapy in New Jersey.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in orthopedic physical therapy is essential.
• Certifications in CPR are highly preferred, aligning with our commitment to patient safety.
• Strong critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills are essential for effective evaluation, treatment planning, and patient education.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
