Senior Employee Relations Specialist Location: Hybrid – Acton, MA Employment Type: Contract (8+ months) Compensation: $53–$56/hour on W2 Position Summary We are seeking a Senior Employee Relations Specialist to provide expert employee relations support to employees, managers, and HR Business Partners. This role will serve as a trusted advisor on workplace concerns, performance management, investigations, corrective actions, policy interpretation, and employee lifecycle processes. The ideal candidate will have strong experience handling complex employee relations matters, partnering with leaders, conducting investigations, and applying HR policies and employment laws in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Partner with HR Business Partners and business leaders to provide employee relations guidance and support. Manage employee relations cases, including workplace concerns, policy questions, conflicts, and escalated employee issues. Conduct thorough and objective workplace investigations and provide recommendations based on findings. Support managers with corrective actions, performance management discussions, and documentation. Develop and support Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) in partnership with managers and HR leadership. Assist with employee separations, including termination processes and required documentation. Interpret and apply HR policies, procedures, and employment regulations consistently. Provide coaching and guidance to managers on employee relations best practices. Maintain accurate case documentation and ensure confidentiality of sensitive employee information. Analyze employee relations trends, exit feedback, and case data to identify opportunities for improvement. Support HR reporting, metrics, and insights for HR Business Partners and leadership. Assist with HR policy updates and process improvements. Support HRIS transactions and organizational updates, preferably within Workday. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. 5–8+ years of progressive HR experience with a strong focus on Employee Relations. Experience conducting workplace investigations and managing employee relations cases. Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR policies, and compliance practices. Experience supporting corrective actions, performance improvement plans, and employee separations. Experience partnering with HR Business Partners and managers. Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage confidential employee information with professionalism and discretion. Experience working with HRIS systems; Workday experience strongly preferred. Preferred Qualifications Experience in healthcare, medical device, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industries. Experience supporting multi-state employee populations. HR case management or HR shared services experience. PHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
