Work Environment

You will be based onsite at our advanced surgical center in the beautiful city of Saint Petersburg, known for its sunny weather and vibrant community. Our facility is designed to support the highest standard of medical care, equipped with the latest technology and resources. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, consisting of 8-hour shifts, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic, as there are no weekend commitments. Key Responsibilities

• Provide advanced practitioner care to orthopaedic patients under the supervision of a specialty physician. This includes delivering diagnostic, therapeutic, procedural, and preventative care tailored to individual patient needs.
• Conduct comprehensive examinations, diagnose conditions, and recommend treatment plans based on thorough assessment, including interpreting radiology reports and lab results.
• Gather patient histories, prescribe medications, order therapeutic interventions, and assist during surgical procedures as needed, positioning you as a vital support within the surgical team.
• Manage patient care throughout the orthopaedic continuum, ensuring proper follow-up during inpatient services, consultations, pre-procedural examinations, procedural interventions, and post-procedure care in both hospital and outpatient settings.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be patients requiring orthopaedic care, ranging from sports injuries and trauma management to arthritis and joint replacement. Our diverse patient demographic in Saint Petersburg means you will encounter a variety of cases, providing an enriching experience that enhances your clinical skills and broadens your understanding of patient needs.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required, with considerations for candidates who possess a Master’s degree or PhD from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of Florida and national certification as a PA.
• DEA Certification must be obtained within three (3) months of hire.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of one (1) year of recent clinical experience as a Physician Assistant, with a dedicated fellowship being a valuable asset.
• Hands-on experience with orthopaedic procedures and wound care is strongly preferred, alongside demonstrated capability in managing urgent referrals from the community.
• Ability to learn and assist in surgeries under direct supervision will be considered important for the role's success.

Compensation and Benefits
