Work Environment

The position is based onsite at our surgical center in vibrant Saint Petersburg, Florida. This full-time role requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. You will work closely with a team of five physicians and five nurse practitioners, fostering an environment of collaboration and support.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations and detailed assessments of patients' medical histories.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests to evaluate patients' conditions, including blood tests and imaging studies such as X-rays.
• Diagnose health conditions and illnesses, developing and proposing appropriate treatment plans for both chronic and acute ailments.
• Prescribe medications and monitor patient responses to treatment, making adjustments as necessary to optimize health outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records, schedules, and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Educate patients and their families regarding health conditions, treatment options, and preventive health measures.
• Promote healthy lifestyle practices and disease prevention methods, offering support and resources to help patients achieve optimal health.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and clinical research to stay current with medical practices and advancements.

As a Physician Assistant, you will primarily serve patients seeking surgical care. Your focus will be on providing comprehensive care that not only addresses immediate health concerns but also emphasizes long-term wellness and prevention. You will navigate a diverse patient demographic, tailoring your approach to meet individual needs and fostering strong therapeutic relationships.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physician Assistant studies, with a Master's Degree strongly preferred.
• A valid Physician Assistant license in the state of Florida (PA-C) is required, as well as a DEA number for medication prescribing.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting, with a solid background in primary care, acute care, or surgical assistance.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment.
• Strong ethical standards, patience, and critical thinking abilities, essential for navigating complex patient scenarios.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, candidates with experience in surgical settings or specific specialties such as cardiology, family medicine, urgent care, or emergency services will be given preference. Compensation and Benefits
