Position Summary Temporary Faculty Pool - Lecturer in Social Work Education. The department seeks qualified candidates to teach undergraduate and graduate courses such as Quantitative Research, Program Evaluation, Field Instructional Practice, or other classes as needed to fulfill educational objectives. Instructor Responsibilities Adhere to and implement university and system‑wide policies per Academic Policy Manual 306. Prepare, deliver, conduct, proctor, and grade lectures, office hours, homework assignments, quizzes, class projects, midterm and final exams. Ensure all classes meet as scheduled throughout the semester in the mode assigned (asynchronous, synchronous, in‑person, or hybrid). Conditional Appointment The appointment is contingent upon budget and enrollment considerations and subject to the order of assignment provisions of the collective bargaining agreement. New lecturer appointees are last in the order of work. Applicants must demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States. The institution does not sponsor work visas for temporary faculty. Compensation Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience within the CSU Salary Schedule. The salary range for Temporary Faculty with a Master’s degree is $5,XXX,XXX per month when teaching full time (15 WTUs). Starting salaries are near the minimum of the range and adjust based on WTUs assigned per term. Anticipated Semester Positions are filled as needed based on enrollment and funding. The pool is open for two academic terms; applicants must reapply to remain after that. Fall term: Aug19—Dec22. Spring term: Jan15—May26. Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Social Work or closely related field (accredited institution or foreign equivalent). Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Preferred Qualifications Commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level, evidenced by prior teaching experiences and evaluations or other evidence.
