Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will:

• Provide trauma-informed counseling services to individuals, couples, and families, catering to a wide range of mental health concerns.

• Incorporate Christian counseling principles in therapy sessions for clients who prefer a faith-based perspective, listening to their unique spiritual needs.

• Develop tailored treatment plans that meet the specific needs and goals of each client, utilizing innovative therapeutic modalities.

• Offer counseling services to clients referred by local churches, ensuring accessibility and community engagement.

• Actively participate in outreach and networking efforts to expand your client base and foster new referral pathways.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers and clinical counselors, to provide comprehensive and coordinated care.

• Maintain meticulous client records and enter progress notes into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system to ensure accurate tracking of client progress.

• Regularly communicate with the center director regarding your availability and scheduling preferences, promoting a transparent work environment.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your caseload will include a diverse group of clients from various backgrounds and age groups, requiring sensitivity to cultural differences and individual life experiences. You will have the opportunity to help clients navigate significant life transitions, manage mental health disorders, and improve their overall well-being.

Qualifications\n

To succeed in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• Master's degree in counseling, social work, or a related field is required.

• Strong knowledge of biblical principles and counseling techniques is essential for those who will provide faith-based support.

• Current licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Washington, DC.
\n
• Dual licensure in Virginia (VA) or Maryland (MD) is highly desirable.
\n
• Completion of EMDR training, or willingness to undertake such training within three months of hire.
\n
• Solid understanding of various therapeutic modalities and interventions suited for diverse populations.
\n
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and collaborate with colleagues.

Preferred Experience\n

While a minimum of one year of experience in trauma counseling is required, candidates with additional experience dealing with diverse populations, age groups, and various therapeutic challenges will stand out in the application process. Experience in community health setting also serves as an asset.

Compensation and Benefits\n
