Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough initial assessments through virtual interviews, documenting case information from the onset of treatment through to discharge.

• Evaluate clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health to establish baseline metrics for effective treatment.
\n
• Develop and tailor intervention strategies and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, aligning with each client’s specific needs.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing various therapeutic modalities to foster healing and personal growth.
\n
• Track and monitor client progress regularly, making data-informed adjustments to treatment plans as necessary.
\n
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to ensure a holistic treatment approach.

• Follow up with other care providers regarding clients' hospital admissions or discharges to maintain continuity in care.
\n
• Identify and mitigate behaviors that impede recovery, offering strategies to enhance coping mechanisms.

• Support families and primary caregivers in managing their loved ones' mental and behavioral health challenges effectively.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our clients at Metro West range from children and adolescents to adults and families facing various mental health challenges. You will work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and other behavioral health conditions. Your expertise will provide these clients with the necessary support and therapeutic tools to navigate their mental health journeys.

Qualifications\n

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Illinois.

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Proficiency in electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, ensuring accurate record-keeping and adherence to privacy regulations.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience as a mental health counselor, with a proven track record of successful client outcomes.

• Experience working with clients from varied socio-economic backgrounds and those with co-occurring disorders, including substance use and mental health issues.

• Familiarity with the best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Strong understanding of psychotropic medications prescribed by healthcare professionals and their effects on client care.
\n
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, along with a compassionate approach to client interactions.
