Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct detailed preliminary interviews and document comprehensive case histories from the initial consultation through the entire treatment process.

• Thoroughly evaluate clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health by utilizing a variety of assessment tools and techniques.

• Develop tailored intervention and treatment plans that address the specific needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring alignment with their therapeutic goals.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions using evidence-based practices that engage clients, promote dialogue, and foster support.

• Monitor and assess client progress against treatment goals regularly, adjusting strategies as needed for optimal client outcomes.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses, to coordinate comprehensive care plans for clients.

• Follow up with clients who require hospitalization, maintaining contact with attending physicians to ensure continuity of care.

• Identify potential barriers to recovery and implement proactive measures to help clients overcome these challenges.

• Support family members and primary caregivers by providing them with strategies and guidance to manage mental health complexities effectively.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will serve a diverse clientele, including individuals dealing with a range of mental health conditions, from anxiety and depression to more severe psychological disorders. Your empathetic approach will be fundamental in building trust and rapport with clients from various backgrounds, ensuring they feel heard and understood throughout their treatment.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current, valid licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California.
\n
• A pass score in the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination (NCMHCE).

• Demonstrated clinical insight through previous experience as a mental health counselor.
\n
• Proficiency in working with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, for streamlined documentation and client management.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience dealing with co-occurring disorders, including substance use and mental health issues.

• Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices.
