Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive initial assessments and ongoing evaluations, documenting client progress from first consultation through treatment completion.

• Develop individualized treatment planning tailored to meet the unique needs of each client, whether it involves individual, couples, families, or group therapy.

• Lead and facilitate therapeutic group sessions that promote shared experiences, recovery, and coping strategies among participants.

• Monitor and evaluate individual client progress and modify treatment approaches based on their evolving needs and responses to therapy.

• Coordinate care strategies with a holistic view by collaborating with psychiatrists, medical staff, and other mental health professionals to optimize patient outcomes.

• Actively participate in supervision and professional development sessions to enhance your clinical skills and knowledge of the latest therapeutic practices.

• Support families and caregivers by offering guidance on how to manage mental health challenges effectively.

• Utilize electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, to maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and facilitate seamless care management.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily serve a diverse client population that includes individuals coping with various mental health challenges, substance use disorders, and emotional disturbances. Our clinic emphasizes a compassionate, person-centered approach, which means you will be instrumental in fostering a supportive and understanding environment for clients from all walks of life.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of California.

• A successful score on the National Counselor Exam (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Prior experience working as a mental health counselor, preferably in a community health setting.
\n
• Proven proficiency in using electronic health record systems such as AVATAR.
\n
• Strong understanding of the interplay between physical and mental health, with experience in dealing with addiction issues.
\n
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a proven ability to engage empathetically with clients.

• Professional demeanor and the ability to maintain composure while addressing challenging client interactions.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience with a diverse client demographic, particularly in underserved populations.

• Familiarity with the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Knowledge of psychopharmacology and the effects of prescribed medications related to mental health treatments.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
