We’re hiring a Part-Time Bookkeeper at APM Shipping Services in Deer Park, NY - someone with experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations who brings accuracy and ownership to their work.

This role plays a key part in keeping the business running smoothly by ensuring financial data is accurate, current, and reliable.

Position Details

• Part-time – 20 hours per week
• Compensation: $32 per hour (based on experience)

What You’ll Do

• Record and categorize financial transactions accurately, with proper documentation
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including vendor payments and tracking incoming funds
• Perform regular reconciliations across bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial records
• Maintain the general ledger and support monthly close activities
• Assist with preparing financial reports, including P&L and balance sheet summaries
• Keep financial records organized and up to date, and help improve processes where needed

What You Bring

• 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience preferred
• Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software
• Strong understanding of AP, AR, and account reconciliations
• Experience with general ledger maintenance and financial reporting (P&L, balance sheet)
• Detail-oriented with strong follow-through
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Comfort handling sensitive financial information with discretion and professionalism
